Rangers Fans' Draft Philosophy Survey Results

Prior to the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Rangers fans were asked a series of questions about how they view the draft and what kind of picks they would be inclined to make it they had the authority to do so. More than 3,500 online surveys were returned. Here are the results:


The Question:
What is your basic draft philosophy when it comes to making first-round picks?

What the Fans Said:
More than half of Rangers fans want the best player on the board, regardless of his position more than they want to make a choice based on position alone. Only 2 percent are willing to trade a first-round pick for an average veteran player who only fills a short-term need.
